MavCrete UM Polyurethane Concrete Flooring
MavCrete UM is a heavy-duty seamless flooring system typically installed at 1/4" – 3/8" in thickness. MavCrete UM is extremely tough and withstands thermal shock, impact, abrasion, and chemical exposure. MavCrete UM is formulated with an anti-microbial additive to be resistant to fungi growth per ASTM G21.
MavCrete UM: Polyurethane Concrete Flooring
MavCrete UM is a polyurethane concrete flooring system supplied as one unit of Part A, Part B, filler aggregate and powder pigment, mixed at 1 A : 1 B plus aggregate and pigment. It is trowel-applied as a monolithic floor and lightly rolled to leave an anti-slip finish.
The system is low odor, installs and cures quickly, and is steam cleanable. It is resistant to moisture vapor transmission (MVT) and to high temperatures up to 250°F.
Where it fits: MavCrete UM is installed as a 1/4" trowel-applied monolithic floor; the sheet lists no separate primer or topcoat, and an optional cove and base can be installed with the system's cove base material.

Substrate Requirements
Apply only to properly prepared clean, dry, and sound concrete that is free of all coatings, sealers, curing compounds, oils, greases and other contaminants; contaminated concrete must be neutralized or removed. New concrete should ideally be cured a minimum of 14 days; MavCrete can be installed after 7 days or once the concrete reaches a minimum 3,500 psi compressive strength, although early curing movement, shrinkage or cracking may reflect through the floor. Remove laitance and weak surface layers (including broom finish), confirm a minimum surface tensile strength of 300 psi per ASTM D4541, and mechanically prepare to a CSP 5 or greater profile per ICRI Guideline 310.2R (equal to 40-grit sandpaper or coarser). Address all surface irregularities, cracks, expansion joints, control joints and terminations before application, and cut keyways (minimum 5/16" wide x 5/16" deep) at all terminations, joints, columns, doorways and drains to prevent lifting or delamination. Air temperature should be 40° – 85°F and material 50° – 80°F.
Mixing and Installation
Clean sand and dust from the prepared concrete, then mix with a proper mixer and paddle (Maverick recommends a MAN-U-FAB M-61 1 HP mixer with a 10-gallon pail and TR4-10 mixing arm). With the mixer running, pour in 1/2 gallon Part A, add one powder pigment and mix about 15 seconds, add 1/2 gallon Part B and mix another 15 seconds, then gradually add the full MavCrete UM filler aggregate and blend until all particles are wetted out, normally about two minutes. Within 3 minutes of mixing, spread the material slightly thicker than the desired finish using a screed box or hand trowel, trowel lightly with a steel finish trowel in one direction without overworking to a finished thickness of 1/4" to 3/8", and immediately roll lightly in no more than two passes with a mohair roller (excessive rolling or a loop roller reduces slip resistance). Lay abutting edges within 10 minutes and keep a wet edge on large placements to avoid lines and ridges. Pot life is 15 minutes at 77°F; higher temperatures shorten pot life and working time. Follow the MavCrete Application Guide; MavCrete systems should only be installed by trained persons experienced in polyurethane concrete flooring.
Full step-by-step instructions, pot life and recoat windows are in the MavCrete UM product data sheet. Maverick installs MavCrete UM with its own crews.
