A System That Moves With the Structure
A vehicular traffic coating is a flexible, waterproof membrane system applied to concrete parking decks: an elastomeric base membrane with 60–65% elongation to bridge moving cracks, an aggregate-broadcast wear course for skid resistance, and a pigmented urethane topcoat. Its job is to keep water and the chlorides in de-icing salts out of the structural slab, where they corrode reinforcing steel.
