MavPolyPatch Hybrid Polyurea Pore Filler
MavPolyPatch is a patented two-component hybrid polyurea/polyurethane designed for filling the pores, pinholes, pitting, cracks, scratches and gouges to enhance the appearance of polished concrete. When MavPolyPatch is applied to concrete it creates a permanent densification that will not break down like conventional inorganic densifiers.
MavPolyPatch: Hybrid Polyurea Pore Filler
MavPolyPatch's high solids formulation allows voids in the concrete floor to be permanently filled, creating a higher gloss and depth of image of the finished polished floor. It can be used on polished concrete or terrazzo floors and blends with the concrete aggregate to create an aesthetically finished floor.
MavPolyPatch is available in a standard and a fast version and can be tinted to a variety of colors for polishing work; the sheet specifies 1 pint of tint per 5 gallons of Polyol (10 mixed gallons). Pop-outs, cracks or voids larger than ½" are repaired by mixing sand with the MavPolyPatch.
Where it fits: MavPolyPatch is a void and crack filler for polished concrete and terrazzo, and is also used for patching under coating systems; it must be fully set and ground before any epoxy is applied over it.

Read Before Specifying
- Do not apply on damp or wet surfaces.
- May exhibit color change if exposed to high UV.
- Blend with sand if surface defects are greater than ½".
- More than one coat may be required depending on surface conditions.
- Material must be fully set and ground even if coating with epoxy, to avoid bubbles and adhesion issues.
- Do not apply outside of the recommended temperature and humidity range.
- Do not delay in mixing and pouring mixed material onto the floor.
- Do not apply over loose or unsound concrete, asphalt or bitumen substrates, glazed tile or nonporous brick and tile, magnesite, copper, metal, polyesters, or elastomeric membranes.
- Do not use as a joint filler substitute.

Substrate Requirements
Concrete must be sound, clean, dry and free of contaminants such as dirt, dust, grease, oil, silicones and anything else that may affect adhesion, and should be a minimum of 28 days old. The surface should be ground with initial coarse grits and taken up to an 80/100 metal bond finish, removing any concrete chips or spalls that are not structurally bonded; use the least aggressive diamond tooling possible, such as 50 grit hybrid ceramics/resins, to avoid opening up additional pits, holes or voids. For best results run a floor scrubber dry with aggressive stiff brushes to loosen dust embedded in defects and voids, then vacuum the entire floor; a wet scrubber is not recommended because concrete slurry can fill the voids, and any standing moisture in the voids may cause the material to foam. Pop-outs, cracks or voids larger than ½" should be repaired by mixing sand with the MavPolyPatch. Cracks wider than 1/8" should be cleaned with a crack chasing blade, wire brush or Nylox wheel, vacuumed out entirely and prefilled with MavPolyPatch before coating the whole floor, to ensure a flush repair.
Mixing and Installation
Apply with air and surface temperatures of 35° – 95°F (2° – 35°C) and material at 60° – 85°F (16° – 29°C); higher temperatures shorten pot life and working time. Mix only what can be applied in 10–15 minutes. MavPolyPatch is a 1 to 1 mix by volume: premix or shake Part B, mix any tint into Part B for 2–3 minutes, then mix Part A into the colored Part B for 45 – 60 seconds at low speed with a mechanical mixer; mixing longer than 60 seconds can make the material catalyze faster and shorten working time. Immediately pour the mixed material onto the floor and spread with a flat, smooth metal blade, rigid trowel, flat stiff squeegee or window squeegee, overlapping the coated area a second time so all voids are filled in both directions; a second coat may be needed to fill voids flush. Once set, grind off the excess to completely degloss the material and leave a smooth surface, testing a small area first, since removing material that has not fully cured can build residue on grinding tools and smear. Cooler temperatures or lower humidity slow the cure, and warmer temperatures or higher humidity speed it up.
