MavCoat SLE — Self-Leveling
High-build 100% solids self-leveling epoxy at a nominal 16–30 mils. The default for production floors, warehouses, and maintenance bays — smooth, seamless, chemical-resistant, and safe for incidental food contact per its PDS.
MavCoat HB — High Build
2-layer system per its guide: epoxy primer at 3–8 mils plus a 100% solids self-leveling body at 10–30 mils, pigmented on-site with MavTints. The restoration workhorse for eroded and worn floors.
MavCoat PC — Prime & Coat
Two-layer prime-and-coat build with a full broadcast to rejection of 36-grit silica between primer and topcoat. Mechanical aggregate interlock delivers slip resistance and intercoat grip for wet and ramped areas.
MavCoat Metallic
Premium metallic epoxy with flowing three-dimensional depth, finished with a MavCoat CES epoxy siloxane topcoat in satin or gloss. Showrooms, lobbies, and retail floors that need to impress and still take traffic.

The Floor Is Engineered Before It's Quoted
Most floor failures are prep failures, and most prep failures start with a scope that never looked at the slab. Ours does — every time, in the same order.
- 1. Site assessment. We walk the floor: traffic type and frequency, chemical exposure, existing coatings, drains and slopes, spalls and failed joints, and the operating constraints around your production schedule.
- 2. Moisture testing. Moisture vapor is a leading cause of coating failure, so the slab gets measured before anything is specified. Where mitigation is required, MavCoat MVB replaces the standard prime coat.
- 3. Surface profile specification. The prep method — diamond grinding or shot blasting — is specified to the CSP profile the system requires, such as CSP 3+ under MavPrime EP. The profile is written into the scope, not left to the crew's judgment on the day.
- 4. Build-up recommendation. You get a named system — primer, body, broadcast, topcoat — with mil thicknesses, cure-to-service times, and the technical data sheet for every component. Every number traces to the PDS.
- 5. A response within 48 hours. Scope requests get an engineered recommendation and budget direction within 48 hours — that's our standing promise, and it's how fast the process starts.
Why the Process Is the Product
A floor that skips moisture testing is a floor that delaminates. A floor coated over the wrong profile is a floor that peels. The build-up recommendation you receive is the same document our crew installs against and the same document your warranty references — which is only possible because the engineering, manufacturing, and installation are one company.
Damaged areas of a MavCoat floor are abraded and recoated for the life of the slab; the floor never has to come out. Safety striping and zone demarcation are coated into the system, not painted over it.

Epoxy Flooring Questions, Answered Straight
How thick should an industrial epoxy floor be?
It depends on the traffic. A MavCoat SLE self-leveling floor is a nominal 16–30 mil build for general plant and warehouse traffic. MavCoat HB is a 2-layer system — a 3–8 mil epoxy primer plus a 10–30 mil 100% solids self-leveling body — for restoring eroded floors. For heavy-duty traffic and impact, we step up to MavClad EM, a ¼″ trowel-applied epoxy mortar. The right thickness is specified from your actual traffic, not a one-size price sheet.
Epoxy vs. polyaspartic — which do I need?
Choose by schedule and exposure. 100% solids MavCoat epoxy delivers verified film build and chemical resistance, with return to foot traffic in 12–16 hours and full chemical cure in 5 days. When the shutdown window is measured in hours, the MavCoat FC fast-cure basecoat with MavSeal UPA polyaspartic topcoat recoats in as little as 4 hours, takes foot traffic in 4–6 hours, and is UV-stable where epoxies amber. Many floors use both — epoxy body, polyaspartic finish.
Can you install an epoxy floor over a shutdown weekend?
Yes. Weekend and overnight installs are standard practice, and we phase larger floors area-by-area so production keeps running. Standard MavCoat epoxy returns to foot traffic in 12–16 hours; where the window is tighter, we specify the MavCoat FC / MavSeal UPA fast-cure system, which installs, cures, and returns to service inside a single weekend — often inside a single shift. Do you fix moisture problems before coating?
Yes — moisture testing is part of every site assessment, because moisture vapor is a leading cause of coating failure. Where mitigation is required, the build-up starts with MavCoat MVB, our moisture vapor mitigation primer, instead of the standard MavPrime EP prime coat. We never coat over an unmeasured slab.
Do you repair the concrete before the epoxy goes down?
Always. Every install starts with mechanical preparation — diamond grinding or shot blasting to the specified CSP profile — followed by repairs: MavPatch Epoxy for spalls, pop-outs, and failed joint shoulders, and MavJoint JF semi-rigid joint filler to honor moving joints through the new floor. The coating system only goes down on a sound, profiled substrate.
