Warehousing, Logistics & Distribution Flooring Systems

Distribution centers, fulfillment and e-commerce warehouses, 3PL operations, cold storage, freight terminals, and cross-docks. Maverick engineers the floors forklifts run on all shift — sealed, striped, joint-protected, and phased so the building keeps shipping during the install.

Forklift Rated Joint Protection Phased Installs

One Building, Six Different Floors

A pick aisle, a dock apron, a freezer, and a battery room sit under one roof and need four different builds. Hard polyurethane wheels, impact at the dock, thermal cycling at the cold-box door, and electrolyte in the charging room each change the body, the topcoat, and the joint detail.

Most warehouse floors start with a sealed epoxy coating system from the MavCoat line, step up to ¼″ MavClad EM epoxy mortar at docks and turning lanes, and move to MavCrete urethane cement where temperature swings. Every control joint is honored and filled. Where the schedule is tightest, fast-cure options bring sections back the next shift. Our warehouse floor coating service covers phasing in detail.

Pick Aisles & High-Bay Racking

Hard-wheel forklift and pallet-jack traffic all shift, with joint shoulders taking the worst of it. A sealed, striped surface with every joint filled and clean terminations at rack baseplates.

Dock Doors & Staging

Trailer plates, dropped pallets, and whatever the trucks track in — water, grit, and de-icing salt all winter. The dock apron is rebuilt at the edge, sloped, and built as a mortar floor with a slip-resistant texture.

Cold Storage & Freezers

Thermal cycling at the doors, condensation, and a box that cannot stay down for long. Urethane cement where the slab swings in temperature, fast-cure options and tight phasing where the schedule rules.

Battery Charging Rooms

Electrolyte spills, hard wheels, and cove base that has to hold. A chemical-resistant topcoat over a mortar body with integral cove. Where static control is specified: MavCoat ESD static-dissipative urethane floor coating applied over an epoxy insulator coat and grounded to the building — surface resistance, point to point/ground, 1×10^5 to <1×10^9 ohms per ANSI/ESD STM 7.1 — for electrical assembly, circuit-board handling, avionics areas, static-sensitive manufacturing and packaging, clean rooms, and labs. See the battery and energy storage page for larger-scale battery facilities.

Food & Pharma Distribution

Hygienic, coved, seamless floors that take washdown and inspection. Urethane cement with integral cove base in wet and temperature-controlled zones, sealed epoxy in dry ambient storage.

Maintenance & Fleet Bays

Oil, fuel, hydraulic fluid, hot tires, jacks, and lift columns. A sealed, slip-resistant coating system that cleans up, with a mortar body under the lifts and heavy equipment lanes.

Starting points, not prescriptions. Every Maverick system is engineered to the condition of the substrate, the abuse it takes, and the facility’s history with previous floors — the build changes from room to room and plant to plant. Only new construction over bare concrete comes close to a standard build.

Engineered, Manufactured, and Installed by One Company

Maverick formulates and batches its own products, engineers each zone to its traffic and schedule, and installs with its own crews under a single-source warranty with a 48-hour response. The work starts at the slab: prep to sound concrete, spalled joint shoulders and dock edges rebuilt, abandoned anchor holes filled, every joint honored — then phased aisle by aisle so the operation keeps shipping.

Warehouse Flooring Questions, Answered

Can you install a warehouse floor without shutting down the operation?

Yes. Maverick phases the work aisle by aisle and zone by zone so product keeps moving while each section cures. Where the window is tightest, fast-cure options such as the MavCoat FC basecoat, MavSeal UPA Fast Cure topcoat, and MavRapidPatch repair bring a section back into service the next shift.

What happens to the control joints in the slab?

Every joint is honored. It is marked, cut through the resinous system only, and filled with MavJoint JF semi-rigid joint filler tooled flush, which supports the joint shoulders against hard forklift wheels while tolerating normal slab movement. Joints designed to move get a movement-rated sealant instead.

Can you coat a freezer or cold-storage floor without warming the room?

Often, yes. The build depends on the hold temperature, the condensation load, and how long the box can be out of service. Maverick engineers cold-box floors case by case: urethane cement where the slab cycles in temperature, fast-cure options and tight phasing where the schedule rules, and a plan to isolate the box when it cannot warm up.

What floor belongs in a forklift battery charging room?

A chemical-resistant topcoat over a troweled mortar body with an integral cove base, so electrolyte spills stay on the floor and off the concrete. Where the specification calls for static control: MavCoat ESD static-dissipative urethane floor coating applied over an epoxy insulator coat and grounded to the building, surface resistance, point to point/ground, 1×10^5 to <1×10^9 ohms per ANSI/ESD STM 7.1, for electrical assembly, circuit-board handling, avionics areas, static-sensitive manufacturing and packaging, clean rooms, and labs.
